Local Golf Outings

June 25th, 2019 by

Over the past month or so, our Ultimate Driving Machines have been making appearances at a few of the local area’s golf outings. As many of you know, the game of golf has direct correlation to the BMW brand. Not only does BMW hosts tournaments including on the professional level, but they also have their own product line called “Golfsport”, which includes apparel, golf balls, tees, and other accessories for the game. The following golf events that our dealership supports are based around long-lasting relationships, some going back towards 15 years. Feel free to read about the following golf outings we support on an annual basis, and maybe we will see you there next year!

Boys and Girls Club Golf Outing:

The Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield partners closely with local organizations to seek out and engage the youth who need us most. These might be youth who are struggling in school, who do not have parental figures in their lives, or who feel isolated or bullied. They work with high school, middle school and elementary school administration and guidance counselors to identify the needs and provide support to our most vulnerable youth. On May 6th, the outing was held at Ridgefield’s Silver Spring Country Club, where our Dealer Principal, Ed, currently enjoys his own time on the course.

Mary’s Fund Golf Classic:

Mary’s Fund was established in 2013 following the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Named after Mary Sherlach, the school psychologist at Sandy Hook, Mary was one of the first educators killed that morning. Established by her family and friends, Mary’s Fund is dedicated to continuing her work of providing mental health services to children and teens. The annual scramble was held June 10th, at Tashua Knolls Golf Course in Trumbull, CT.

Ridgefield Lions Club Annual Golf Tournament:

The Ridgefield Lions Club is a non-profit organization that supports the local community. The Lions Mission Statement is to create and foster a spirit of understanding among all people for humanitarian needs by providing voluntary services through community involvement and international cooperation. Their annual golf tournament was held June 5th at the Ridgefield Golf Course.

Side note: A helicopter made an appearance and dropped numbered golf balls above a hole to give someone a chance to win a prize! If your number was marked on the golf ball that landed in the hole, you were the winner! Our 2019 M340xi was lucky enough to watch the whole thing happen. (see image below).
